SESSION OVERVIEW
This multi-part Silicon Halton event will guide 30 Tech Under 20’s through a series of Learning Stations focused on networking and professional skills, and potentially open them up to internship opportunities in their fields of interest.
Session 1: Pitch Yourself Workshop
Students rotate through five learning stations related to networking, building their personal profile, and how to find internship opportunities.
Session 2: Speed Pitching Session
Students practice their newly-developed skills by making their 30 second pitch to 30 potential internship employers and Silicon Halton mentors; each pitch will be followed 90 seconds of Q & A. After the speed pitches, the floor will be opened up for additional networking.

STUDENTS (max. 30 participants)
- Are you between 16 and 19 years of age?
- Do you live or study in Halton Region?
- Are you focused on a career in ICT (information & communication technology), engineering, programming, project management, entrepreneurship, business development, marketing, design, business administration, customer or technical support?
- Are you interested improving your networking and professional skills, AND the opportunity to pitch yourself as a future intern with ICT companies in Halton?

MENTORS / COACHES
Looking for:
- 5+ energetic, training-focused mentors
- Each mentor will lead 5 consecutive 25 minute sessions for small groups of students who visit their Learning Station
- Mentors will attend the second session to observe the students speed pitching, offer feedback and engage in follow-up networking after the speed pitching concludes.

EMPLOYERS
Looking for:
DEDICATED EMPLOYERS
- We’re looking for 30 small, medium & large employers and startups who are interested in helping TU20’s gain experience pitching themselves and networking face-to-face.
GUIDANCE & INSIGHTS
- Each employer will listen to all 30 pitches individually, then spend 90 seconds in rapid Q & A with each student
REAL INTERNSHIP POSITIONS (where possible)
- One of the goals of this event is to place a number of students in short or long-term, full or part-time internships in the region; however, if you don’t have a current opportunity to offer, you’re still welcome to participate.
