Energy storage has been a growing problem with the increased demand. Altitude Accelerator client, Temporal Power and their technology was recently highlighted in the Globe and Mail because of their unique flywheel storage device being implemented in Ontario’s power system. Their flywheels are being installed at another site near Tillsonburg, Ont., where Ontario power distributor Hydro One will soon begin testing them to help smooth out regional fluctuations caused by the large number of wind farms in that area.

With the help of the Altitude Accelerator Entrepreneur-in-Residence, James Sbrolla, Cam Carver (CEO of Temporal Powers) has been able to grow the company from idea to reality. Altitude Accelerator provides support to tech entrepreneurs including market intelligence reports, business introductions and mentorship.

“The help of the RIC Centre in our early days was instrumental [to our success]” said Cam Carver, CEO of Temporal Power.

The Altitude Accelerator has helped Temporal Power grow since its ideation stage in 2009, where they won the 2010 Innovator Idol competition held by Altitude Accelerator. The judges for the competition saw the potential in both the technology and its CEO.
