March of this year, Avi Reichental spoke about what the future looks like for the 3D printer on TED. Despite talk about its job-stealing potential, Reichental believes that 3D printing is really something to get excited about. But if you’re still on the fence, maybe ORD Solutions Inc. can help change your mind.
ORD Solutions Inc. has been advancing micro manufacturing in Canada and developing the next generation of 3D printers for the last two years. All pulleys are metal and all gears are stainless steel, which means greater durability. The machines also offer a build volume of 1002 cubic inches, high torque motors, and proprietary Hi-Flo. For smooth, trouble-free extrusion, the ORD Solutions MH3000 has an all-new liquid cooling system that regulates the temperatures of all-metal hot-ends. And because the hot-ends can withstand temperatures of up to 450 degrees Celsius, you are able to print with a larger variety of materials. With this product, the possibilities for 3D printing have become virtually endless.
In the fall of 2013, ORD Solutions launched a KickStarter campaign for the first iteration of the ORD Solutions MH3000. They reached their funding goal in the first 24 hours. When the project ended 3 weeks later, they had raised more than $100,000.
“Our supporters were from all over the world,” says Chris Gibson, CEO and President of ORD Solutions Inc.
Since then, ORD Solutions has moved into a larger facility dedicated to manufacturing and has doubled their labour force. They have also expanded their product line to include paste and food printing (sounds delicious!) and have increased their sales by 10 times, over 2013.
Commenting on their success, Gibson says: “RIC has proven to be an invaluable resource for expanding their company. They helped us find the right people and gave great advice on everything from manufacturing to marketing.”
By the end of 2015, Gibson predicts that ORD Solutions will multiply their sales by another 10 to 20 times.
Currently, ORD Solutions are nearing the end of a KickStarter campaign for their new paste-extruding 3D Printer called the RoVaPaste.
