Sheridan College has opened the annual call for its Capstone course which will be offered in summer and fall semesters (May to December 2016, 8 months). Our students and faculties look for opportunities to provide creative solutions/prototypes for real industrial problems/products.
If your company is interested to engage in such a practice where it’s expected that both the industry partner and students will benefit from the outcome, please submit a brief description of project(s) (and pictures if available), preferably before April 15 by email to:

Following is a Q/A section that may answer some of your questions regarding the procedure. For further information please do not hesitate to contact us.
- What type of project is preferred?
Prototype development including design and fabrication, tool design, product redesign or enhancement, consumer/household prototypes, and etc.
- What is the student’s background?
Capstone course will be offered to the students in Mechanical Design disciplines in their fifth and sixth semester. A team of 2-3 students work on a project.
- What is the time line of the project?
The first phase “Design” will be completed in the summer Semester (May-August) and the second phase “Fabrication” will be during their sixth semester (September-December)
- What is the expectation from industry?
Mentorship and guidance, response to technical questions, providing some material and required parts for the project, and attendance in formal presentation and project showcase.
- What type of machinery/technologies is available at Sheridan?
3D printing machines, water jet cutter, CNC and traditional metal working machinery, material testing, etc.
