Wall Street Journal Live Global Startup Showcase

tyj0G4uSThe Wall Street Journal is pleased to announce a call for entries to its Global Startup Competition, which will take place during WSJDLive on October 19th-21st in Laguna Beach, California.  The competition will showcase entrepreneurs from around the world who have created amazing new technologies, products and services that can be used and shared globally.

Submissions will be accepted between Wednesday, May 20th and Wednesday, July 1st.  The competition is open to any independent startup company launching a product or service between the dates of January 1, 2015 and May 31, 2016. The startup’s funds raised at the date of entry are limited to a maximum of $5 million. Preference will be given to undiscovered startups whose work has a clear global application.

Finalists will each receive a ticket to WSJDLive, where they will have 5 minutes to present their company to a panel of investors and an audience of Fortune 500 CEOs, entrepreneurs and investors from markets around the world.  The judges confer after the pitches are finished and select a winner.  WSJDLive participants will also vote for the audience favorite.  For any questions about the competition, please email wsjdlive@wsj.com with “WSJDLive Startup Competition” in the subject line.
