The Value of Microsoft BizSpark: An Entrepreneur’s Perspective

Mississauga, ON – August 14, 2012 – The Altitude Accelerator recently joined Microsoft as a Network Partner of the BizSpark Program. This collaboration allows RIC clients and other start-ups connected to RIC to gain access to the latest Microsoft tools and technologies to assist them in growing their business.

At no cost, start-ups obtain instant access to a large platform of Microsoft software including Windows Azure – Microsoft’s public cloud which can be used to build applications using any operating system, language or tool.

Altitude Accelerator Client MaRi Eagar – Founder of openaxyzTM and Innovator Idol 2012 finalist shares her experiences with the BizSpark Program:
“In June 2012, openaxyz was approached by Rini Gahir from Microsoft Canada after watching our business pitch at RIC’s Innovator Idol. We were invited to join the Bizspark initiative.

We have already gained valuable access to the Microsoft network during the 2012 Global Partner Conference and are scoping the Microsoft Development and Systems Architecture teams on the Azure platform and Windows 8.

As a start-up, we require access to new customers through credible distribution channels. Becoming part of the Bizspark initiative and being successful in achieving milestones within this initiative will provide us with credibility to our target market. As a software company, there is no better reference of the quality of our openaxyz software than an endorsement of an organization such as Microsoft, whose systems architect described openaxyz as ‘very smart technology’.”
