Targeted Internet Marketing to Grow Your Business

By: Fatema Fatakdawala

According to a Cisco report, the number of Internet-connected mobile devices in the world at the end of 2012 exceeded the number of people on Earth! What that means for businesses is that the process of how you market your product or service has drastically changed.

This rapid shift from PCs and laptops to mobile platforms (smartphones, tablets, e-readers and other handheld devices) means that businesses need to develop innovative marketing strategies which include both the old school traditional marketing aspect as well as internet marketing (and yes, this includes social media).

Depending on your business goals, you need to determine the digital strategy that best fits your needs. Although there are an overwhelming number of social media tools  out there, this type of marketing has a low barrier to entry. To find the perfect tool (Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Pinterest, etc.) that matches your business needs, all you have to do is play it by trial and error. The good news is that, as long as you give it time, you can achieve your marketing goals without investing a whole bunch of money.

If you’re not sure where to begin or have trouble learning how each platform is different, run a test and see what works. To give you a headstart, attend our Growing Your Business: Breakfast with the Experts session on Thursday, Jan 10th 2012 to hear first-hand from 3 Internet marketing experts:

–          Gail Mercer Mackay, Founder of Mercer-Mackay Solutions Inc. will kick off the session describing how you can leverage awards as a distinguishing marketing feature.

–          Wayne S. Roberts, President of BLADE Branding will walk us through some tools to improve brand recognition via your website and social networks.

–          Clive Lobo, CEO of Spark Internet Marketing will then tell us his story and share his personal insights when it comes to internet marketing.
