With the growing base of young talent in the city of Mississauga, connecting students with industry professionals is one of the most important ways to empower innovation and create a future with successful entrepreneurs. On January 24, the Digital Enterprise Management (DEM) Society at the University of Toronto Mississauga hosted the Young Entrepreneurs’ Conference. Altitude Accelerator was proud to sponsor the Youth Innovation Award, a $5000 award generously supported by the Business Acceleration Program, a ONE program delivered by MaRS.
The winner of the Youth Innovation Award was “TapBand”, as chosen by our Altitude Accelerator judging panel: Karen Grant, Executive Director of the Angel ONE Investor Network, Andrew Yoshioka, President of Sanbonki Inc., and Baraa El-Kadri, Industrial Technology Advisor at National Research Council of Canada – IRAP.
From the ten teams that presented, Team TapBand met the judges’ criteria: strength of the team, size of the opportunity and its competitive environment, the product, business stage, marketing opportunity, and various other factors.
