Marketing Intern
Qualifications
Post-secondary education from a marketing and information technology discipline; excellent communications and creative skills including understanding of the business community; ability to multi-task and work well under deadlines in a team environment.
Responsibilities
• Design marketing collateral, such as promotional flyers
• Design logos for events and programs
• Research, write/edit and create content for new blogs
• Use WordPress blogging tools with HTML to schedule blogs
• Use Hootsuite to schedule social media promotion
• Analyze blog traffic and suggest opportunities
• Perform other special projects, as assigned
Skills
• Working knowledge of Adobe Illustrator/Photoshop required
• Ability to create, compose, and edit written materials
• Understanding of search engine optimization
• Ability to effectively manage time and schedules
• Ability to work independently and as a member of a team
• Knowledge of the following is an asset but not required:
o Content management systems, including WordPress and Joomla
o Social media management platforms, including Hootsuite
o Customer relationship management products, including SalesForce
Communications Intern:
Qualifications
Post-secondary education from a communications and information technology discipline; excellent communications and creative skills including understanding of the business community; ability to multi-task and work well under deadlines in a team environment.
Responsibilities
• Interview startup clients for Entrepreneur Profiles and Success Stories
• Research, write, edit, and publish blog articles around innovation and entrepreneurship themes
• Use Hootsuite to schedule social media promotion for articles
• Perform continuous enhancements and modifications to articles
• Analyze website traffic and suggest opportunities for improvement
• Perform other special projects, as assigned
Skills
• Exceptional organization and communication skills
• Solid understanding of all sections related to the anatomy of a blog
• Ability to create, compose, and edit written materials
• Understanding of search engine optimization
• Ability to effectively manage time and schedules
• Ability to work independently and as a member of a team
• Ability to include corporate objectives and mission throughout blog presentation
• Knowledge of the following is an asset but not required:
o Content management systems, including WordPress
o Social media management platforms, including Hootsuite
o Customer relationship management products, including Salesforce
o Adobe Suite products, including Illustrator and Photoshop
