Mississauga, ON– Dec 6, 2016 – Pam Banks, Altitude Accelerator’s Executive Director, announced Altitude Accelerator’s exclusive partnership with BDO Canada at the Growing Your Business Tech Forecast for 2017 in Mississauga.
BDO Canada has partnered with Altitude Accelerator to develop and deliver new programs to support technology entrepreneurs in the Peel region.
“The relationship with BDO will give RIC client companies access to resources for every stage of the business lifestyle. Access to the most up to date info on program incentives, tax and accounting is critical to a company’s growth and we are really pleased to partner with BDO,”
Altitude Accelerator’s primary role is to connect insightful and imaginative entrepreneurs to the practical resources necessary for them to scale, create jobs and profit. As the innovation hub for Brampton, Mississauga and Caledon, their mission is to “fast-track entrepreneurs to market”.
“BDO is extremely excited to be partnering with Altitude Accelerator,” says Jamie Barron, Partner with BDO. “The contribution that the Altitude Accelerator has made to the growth of the start-up ecosystem has been instrumental. We are proud to be part of the team and look forward to the continued growth together.”
BDO’s mission is to drive innovation and growth within the technology industry. Our global presence is key in helping start-ups thrive and penetrate global markets. By partnering with Altitude Accelerator, together we will be supporting the local start-up ecosystem in Toronto and its surrounding areas.
“Navigating the legal and tax implications of running a small business can be daunting. BDO helped us create a plan to address our financial concerns and establish sound corporate governance,” says Richard Obuhowich, President of 3terra, a Altitude Accelerator startup client and member of Altitude Accelerator’s Incubator program.
BDO Canada joins Bereskin & Parr LLP and Pallett Valo LLP, intellectual property (IP) and corporate law partners, respectively, to deliver Professional Service Provider programming as part of Altitude Accelerator’s aim to support tech-based businesses. BDO Canada will be involved in the Startup Boot Camp, offering bi-monthly workshops to help provide basics of starting a tech based business. The added value will be a follow-on opportunity for entrepreneurs to meet one-on-one with the professional providers for more detailed discussion. Technology startups often need accounting and tax support at various levels, whether that’s general accounting, corporate/founder tax, grants and incentives, or valuations and risk analysis.
