Mississauga, ON – May 9, 2014 – The Altitude Accelerator Incubator was officially launched May 8 at the Xerox Research Centre Canada (XRCC) in Mississauga.

“The launch of the RIC Incubator is a milestone event that represents a new opportunity for small companies to accelerate their path to market,” said John Switzer.  “This facility was only possible through the leadership of Paul Smith VP, XRCC and takes the Altitude Accelerator service capabilities to a new level.”

The Altitude Accelerator Incubator is the next generation of business Incubator that combines professional services and a collaborative peer-to-peer culture for a six month term.  The incubator provides business and/or technical support through the following:

  • Essential connections to industry and market channels
  • Accelerated programming to meet significant milestones within six months
  • Access to experts and coaching through Entrepreneurs-in-Residence
  • Tenants can also access technical expertise and research facilities through XRCC’s fee-for-service model

The first cohort of tenants include: DevelLab, XRomb, Good Robot, Titanfire and Char Technologies.

The launch also recognized the important contributions from members of the local business community that are part of the Champion Series, a sequence of progressive panels; Silicon Peel and Volunteer Advisors.  These individuals offer value insights that are supporting the next generation of entrepreneurs.

Application deadline for the next incubator cohort is May 30, 2014, for a July 2014 start date.  All interested candidates should apply on-line.  The RIC Incubator does not pursue an equity position nor any claim on the company’s intellectual property.
