Founded in 2007, Minavox is a Toronto-based software developer whose proprietary technology, Video Interviewing Platform (VIP), is a web-based video survey and interviewing platform.

Specifically, this technology can be used for recruiting and market research. In aid of efficient recruiting, VIP reduces the number of private sessions by automating the candidate selection process. The need to travel is also reduced as meetings are condensed into one virtual office. The nature of the technology also allows for talent to be evaluated by multiple HR personnel.

For market research, VIP diversifies data by eliminating the geographic boundaries of traditional focus groups. The video format also gives greater insight than text, which is the traditional practice. An analysis of non-verbal communication allows for faster, broader insight.

VIP has a unique place in the market. The seamless, efficient technology is making strides in the fields of human resources and marketing through video technology. VIP serves as a branching engine, automatically sorting respondents’ video content. There is also a MetaTagging and Coding Engine, which creates searchable elements of any video, and an intelligent playlist generator, which allows for automated sharing of captured video. An open design has also been implemented to easily integrate with industry standardized platforms.

The Altitude Accelerator has supported Minavox by providing sound business planning and market development strategies, making networking introductions, as well as providing access to market research and government funding sources.

Minavox has been providing its video interviewing technology and related services to world class corporations for over seven years and continues to work closely in partnership with these organizations today. Todd Nowensky, Co-Founder and VP Business Development at Minavox stated “2013 was a particularly exciting year for Minavox as we were awarded the contract to work as a Proud Supporter of the TORONTO 2015 Pan Am / Parapan Am Games which will take place in the summer of 2015, we are looking forward to being part of such an important event in the history of Toronto and to making our contribution toward a successful games.”

Minavox will provide its Video Interviewing Platform (VIP) for recruiting volunteers for the TORONTO 2015 Games. The platform will be used by interested candidates to participate in an online interview for each of over 20,000 volunteer positions required to make the TORONTO 2015 Games a success. The platform will offer those who qualify to be a volunteer, an exciting opportunity to respond to interview questions in video from the comfort of their own home using their webcam or from a public location.  The system will be seamlessly integrated with the official Games Management System for the TORONTO 2015 Games proving to be the most efficient and cost-effective system ever used at an international sporting event for placing volunteer candidates in roles that best suit them.

Geoff Kushnir, Co-Founder and CTO at Minavox added, “the new version of our technology redeveloped for the TORONTO 2015 Games will offer a whole new level of efficiency for large organizations that regularly recruit personnel for a wide variety of positions across a large footprint of locations.”

The company hopes to take steps towards increasing the scale of their operations by securing investment. This will provide them with the means to grow their business and continue providing human resources and marketing solutions.
