BioTalent Canada 2013 Labour Market Information Survey
Mark Chapeskie, Senior Manager, Programs & Operations, BioTalent Canada
For the past three years, Mark has managed several projects at BioTalent Canada to transition skilled workers into Canada’s bio-economy. He has worked extensively on research pertaining to alternative career paths and transferrable skills. He is presently completing work on a labour market study of Canada’s bio-economy, including a comprehensive look at how newcomers to Canada are integrating into the industry. Before coming to BioTalent Canada, Mark worked in the international development field in Africa, focusing on local economic development initiatives and judicial reform. His work also took him to Asia, where he taught English and curriculum development at local schools, experience he has applied at BioTalent Canada in the development of an English course specific to the bio-economy. He has an MA Human Security and Peacebuilding from Royal Roads University and BA in Government from St. Lawrence University in northern New York.

Fiona Cunningham, Business Development Director, Mitacs
Fiona completed her PhD at the University of Toronto, in the department of Biochemistry. Prior to joining the Mitacs Ontario Business Development team, Fiona held a Field Application Specialist position with a life science research company called New England Biolabs, where she advised and sold scientists on DNA and Enzyme based research tools.
