KPMG Enterprise: Giving Back To Entrepreneurs

By: Mariya Shynlova

If you are an entrepreneur, you will attest to the difficulty of knowing whom to reach out to for trusted, reliable advice to take your idea to market. With directories and databases full of listings for all manner of ‘experts’, it is difficult to know where to start. Connecting with a place like Altitude Accelerator can help narrow that field and even provide free initial consultations from trusted advisors in your community. RIC is proud to have an active and engaged volunteer advisor and service provider community that connects with our entrepreneurs to accelerate their path to market.

One of RIC’s trusted community partners is KPMG EnterpriseTM – offering tax, audit and advisory services on business issues of importance to business owners and entrepreneurs to help enhance the growth and profitability of their business and grow thriving enterprises.

Aside from their core offerings, KPMG Enterprise also supports start-ups on a national scale through programs such as the Future Entrepreneurial Leader (FuEL) Awards.  With its launch in 2011, the FuEL Awards reward bright, young entrepreneurs who have come up with emerging and innovative busi
nesses, much like RIC’s Innovator Idol.

KPMG Enterprise has also supported RIC’s monthly entrepreneurial training series Growing Your Business where entrepreneurs have breakfast with three industry experts and discuss relevant commercialization topics, from branding to business valuation. Celebrating its 10th anniversary, KPMG Enterprise, and  the Richard Ivey School of Business,  established a similar program, called QuantumShiftTM, for select entrepreneurs and business owners who want to improve their leadership skills, inspire their business partners and maximize their growth opportunities. Like Altitude Accelerator, the program aims to provide a network of well-established entrepreneurial peers with a platform to share their ideas and challenges to grow their businesses further.

Recently, KPMG Enterprise has been recognized by the Mississauga Business Times in their 2012 Top Performers Readers’ Choice Award because the community identified KPMG Enterprise as actively contributing to the growth of Mississauga.  To show their appreciation, KPMG Enterprise honoured the Altitude Accelerator with a donation, which will help fund ongoing entrepreneurial workshops and seminars in the region. Altitude Accelerator welcomes KPMG Enterprise to our united goal of building Peel Region’s entrepreneurial legacy.
