BeACCoN Quick Strike Expression of Interest.
Deadline to submit expression of interest: March 13, 2015, 5pm.
Better Access and Care for Complex Needs is Ontario’s response to the Canadian Institutes for Health Research (CIHR) Strategy for Patient Oriented Research (SPOR) for Primary and Integrated Health Care Innovations (PIHCI). The BeACCoN network is an alliance between research, policy and practice to create a dynamic and responsive learning network that will develop, evaluate and scale up new approaches to the delivery of integrated and cost-effective services across and beyond sectors of health care. BeACCoN is particularly interested in research and innovations for individuals with complex needs (i.e. the top 1 and 5% of health care users), across the lifecourse, outside of hospital, and in the community. BeACCoN is one of 11 SPOR PIHCI networks across Canada which, as part of its mandate, seeks to align research opportunities with jurisdictions outside of Ontario.
Through the BeACCoN Network, CIHR will be issuing a formal call for Quick Strike research proposals in late February 2015. This opportunity is specifcially for cross-provincial reserach projects. BeACCoN will submit a single application for all selected proposals which will be selected by the BeACCoN Leadership Team in accordance with the priorities set by the BeACCoN Advisory Committee and the MOHLTC.
Projects can address one or more of the following priorities:
- Integrated care for high needs users
- Redesign of home and community care
- Funding reform and quality improvement
- Upstream prevention/population health
