This pioneering experimental program equips talented young professionals with the tools and resources to continue to build their leadership skills.
From using robotics to clean the environment, to making legal advice more accessible with an innovative app, to revolutionizing healthcare by creating artificial circulatory systems, our alumni have a track record for impact.
Over eight months beginning in September, Fellows spend 80% of their time offsite working and completing team projects, and 20% of their time onsite at MaRS for in-class sessions.
This year, it is exciting to announce new program design with a flexible part-time model that allows Fellows to work, study or run a venture full time while participating in the fellowship. Alternatively, they can apply for a placement within MaRS.

Fellows will work in teams within MaRS’ key areas of focus to launch innovative projects that shape the future of:
- Health
- Energy & the Environment
- Advanced Materials & Manufacturing
- Finance, Commerce & Law
- Work & Learning
The Studio Y Fellowship program provides each fellow with a $15,000 living stipend for the duration of the Fellowship; those completing a work placement within MaRS will receive an additional $10,000 living stipend.
Fellows may also access project funding and individual learning budgets. Assistance with travel and accommodations is available to those travelling from outside of Toronto or facing financial barriers.
